Wettstein's Sturgeon Food – All Season, sinking, 5 kg

Wettstein's Sturgeon Food is our sturgeon food line for year-round use. It is a high-quality, sinking food. To provide sturgeon with optimal nutrition, specially developed sturgeon food must be used. The sturgeon food consists of high-quality fish meals, proteins, and carbohydrates, supplemented with essential micronutrients (vitamins, minerals, and trace elements). The optimal feeding amount for sturgeon is 1% of body weight per day.

Since sturgeon have an inferior mouth (except for Beluga sturgeon and paddlefish), they only take their food from the bottom of the pond, so we feed sinking food. The food has a strong natural smell, which resembles the fish's natural diet (insect larvae, worms, mollusks). Sturgeon should be fed in small amounts as often as possible throughout the day, as they completely ignore food that lies in the pond for longer than 1 hour. Generally, sturgeon should always be fed in the same place and on a clean substrate.

If sturgeon are kept together with koi, the koi should always be fed sufficiently at the water surface first, otherwise, they would eat the sturgeon's food. If this is the case, feeding must take place in the dark, as sturgeon are more nocturnal. When keeping large koi, the sturgeon should also be large enough. Another possibility would be to use a PVC pipe to transport the food past the koi directly to the bottom of the water.
