What is UV-C?
UV-C clarification is indispensable for every pond. It kills suspended algae cells. If this does not happen, you will have the phenomenon of a green pond. By irradiating with UV-C light, microscopic cells are killed by a chemical bond of their DNA (cellular genetic material). They clump together and are removed from the water cycle by the filter.

The size (wattage) of the UV-C lamp to be selected depends on your pond volume and the surface area of the pond. The larger the surface area, the greater the solar radiation and the growth of suspended algae. UV-C devices with high wattages are useless if the circulation is too small. We have frequently observed this in ponds that were planned incorrectly. The pond volume should be pumped through the UV-C lamp at least every two hours. We will be happy to advise you on which UV-C device is best suited for your pond.

UV-C devices must never be operated without water flow. Otherwise, overheating would damage the device.

Caution: UV-C radiation is harmful to human and animal eyes. Never look into UV-C light without appropriate protective eyewear. The light must also not irradiate the bio-medium!
