From June to September, the Marsh Cranesbill displays its beautiful, magenta-colored flowers. A delight for many bees and other insects! Geranium palustre is a deciduous perennial. The leaves are wonderfully medium green and lobed.
The perennial has a loose growth habit. At a height of 60 cm, the Marsh Cranesbill is about 35 cm wide.
A sunny to partially shaded location is optimal for Geranium palustre, especially if the soil is well-drained, humus-rich, and nutritious.

Growth
This perennial is a loose plant. Geranium palustre will grow to about 30 cm to 60 cm tall, with a width of 25 cm to 35 cm.

Leaves
This perennial is deciduous.
The leaves of Geranium palustre are medium green. Their leaf margin is lobed.

Flower
Between June and September, the Marsh Cranesbill adorns itself with flowers. These are magenta in color.

Frost hardiness
Winter protection is not needed; temperatures down to -26°C are not a problem.

Soil
This perennial requires well-drained, humus-rich, and nutritious soil.

Water
Regular watering is preferred by the Marsh Cranesbill.

Care
Good to know: Divide the plant every 2-3 years and remove weak roots and shoots. Improved growth and flowering power will be the reward!

Planting time
As long as the ground is not frozen or there is no summer heat, container plants can be planted throughout the year.
