Description
Heron Scarer Laser Guard emits flashlight, laser, and sounds
Colorful fish in a clear pond are easy prey for herons. In spring, herons are looking for food for their young - in summer, when the young herons have fledged, they stand by the water themselves to fish. In autumn, food for herons is scarce, and pond fish are easy prey.
Fish are the heron's main food source, but its long beak can also inflict life-threatening injuries on large specimens. Once a heron has been successful, it will return until the pond is fished out.
The motion sensor of the Heron Scarer Laser Guard detects approaching intruders and has a range of approx. 12 m at an angle of 100°. The effect is very effective against herons, among others, in three different ways:
1. Flashing light with variable frequencies makes the surroundings unpleasantly unsettling.
2. Herons view the green laser beams as dangerous, moving obstacles.
3. The sound of a distressed fellow species, barking dogs, and the frightening sounds of a deadly poison dart frog finally deter the heron.
This deterrence method lasts about 60 seconds each time; the startled intruders will flee, so the fish in the pond are safe again.
Installation notes:
Perform calibration at dusk and set the sensor to only 2 - 3. Be sure to anchor the Laser Guard securely.
