What is UV-C?
UV-C clarification is essential for every pond. It kills suspended algae cells. If this doesn't happen, you'll experience the phenomenon of a green pond. Exposure to UV-C light kills microscopic cells by chemically bonding to their DNA (cell genetic material). They clump together and are removed from the water cycle by the filter.

The size (wattage) of the UV-C lamp to be chosen depends on your pond volume and the surface area of the pond. The larger the surface area, the greater the solar radiation and the growth of suspended algae. High-wattage UV-C devices are useless if the circulation is too small. We have often observed this in ponds that were poorly planned. The pond volume should be pumped through the UV-C lamp at least every two hours. We would be happy to advise you on which UV-C device is best suited for your pond.

UV-C devices must never be operated without water flow. Overheating would otherwise damage the device.

Caution: UV-C radiation is harmful to the eyes of humans and animals. Never look directly into UV-C light without appropriate protective eyewear. The light must also not irradiate the bio-medium!
