The European Beluga or Beluga Sturgeon (Huso huso) is the largest fish species in the sturgeon family and is considered one of the largest bony fish. It occurs in the Black and Caspian Seas and in the adjacent major rivers.

The Beluga has traditionally been caught primarily for caviar, but also as food fish. Due to overfishing and the loss of suitable spawning grounds, the species is now considered endangered. The European Beluga can reach a length of 800 cm and a weight of over 2,000 kg, and live for over 100 years. The European Beluga or Beluga feeds almost exclusively on fish. Juvenile fish begin to eat fish when they are already 3-4 cm long.
